Renters Insurance

Many people who rent apartments think their landlord will cover their contents and belongings in the event of a loss. But a landlord's insurance policy (if they have one) only covers his or her own property and liability. A renter's policy is very similar to a homeowner policy. The main difference is it doesn't provide coverage for a structure. It does, however, cover your contents - furniture, clothes, TV's etc., as well as liability.

Renters insurance is generally inexpensive, depending on the amount of contents coverage you buy.
