Umbrella Liability Insurance

An umbrella policy provides additional liability over and above your vehicle and homeowner policy. Too often overlooked, this policy is an all-important key to making sure your assets are covered and your family is protected.

Why do you need one? Maybe you're in a car accident and are sued for more than the limits on your vehicle policy. Or maybe someone slips and falls on your property and sues you for more than your homeowners' liability limit.  An umbrella policy provides that additional coverage.

Because the umbrella policy responds after the underlying coverage is exhausted, you must carry certain limits on your vehicle and homeowner policy. Most insurers require 250,000/500,000 on your vehicle policy and $1,000,000 on your homeowner liability. Umbrella policies can provide an additional one to two million dollars of liability coverage.
